Senior Teams 2019


Bulldog Bhangra is a team originating from Fresno, CA. They aim to spread the love and culture for the dance and represent our hometown in a unique and exciting way, while still maintaining the traditional aspect to the dance.


Representing Vasda Punjab Bhangra Academy from Manteca, CA. The team was formed in 2017 and has competed at some major competitions like West Coast Bhangra, Bhangra State of Mind, Dhamak Bhangra, and Bhangra Fever X. It consists of kids ages 13-19, and Mehak Punjab Di has a big passion for bhangra, and they are excited to be performing at Bhangra City.


RVD is an all-male competitive Bhangra team from the Metro Detroit area that was established in 2014. They have seen competitive success throughout the country and have started their own academy.


NPBA was founded by a group of friends who had a passion for Bhangra. NPBA’s team has love for Bhangra and this is what drives them to help teach new generations of students, not only the folk dance of Bhangra, but also cultural relevance, history, heritage and the goal of preserving the Punjabi culture. NPBA Senior Girls is Calgary’s most active and elite competitive Bhangra team. By the end of summer 2019, NPBA senior girls will have taken part in four competitions in a span of 8 weeks.


Norcal Naujawan is an all-male Bhangra team based out of the Bay Area, CA. Founded in 2013, Norcal has provided a positive environment for their dancers on and off stage and encourages each other to work hard and strive further. Norcal Naujawan are coming to Vancouver for the first time and look forward to putting on a great performance for you to enjoy.


Vancouver Folk Roots Bhangra is a young group of dedicated and talented individuals. They all share a deep passion for the beautiful art form of Bhangra, and our rich Punjabi heritage we wish to inspire future generations to Promote Folk bhangra, and to keep our Cultural Roots alive.


Shan - E - Punjab Arts Club was founded in 2008 by a group of passionate Bhangra and Giddha devotees, all of whom have countless years of practice and knowledge under their belt. The joint passion of culture, heritage and musical art was combined to create this flourishing academy.


Founded in 2006, a group of friends started Apna Bhangra Crew, and sought to show their love and passion for Bhangra around the Seattle area. ABC brings twelve dancers to the stage, to showcase their talent and love for Bhangra. As a team, ABC brings a new flavour of Bhangra with the same folk elements that enhance the dance form. After competing successfully around North America from 2007-2012, ABC has focused on giving back to the community by opening up two Bhangra schools in the greater Seattle area. Each school consists of over 80 students, and ages vary anywhere from 3-17 years old. After a five-year hiatus, ABC is excited to be back in the senior competition circuit with new faces, while keeping the same entertaining and energetic style. Watch out for ABC to entertain a stage near you, promising to leave you smiling and yearning for more!


Bhangra Avenue is a part of BC Cultural Bhangra Academy which began from humble roots; however with more than 500 students BC Cultural Bhangra Academy is the biggest South Asian Academy in the Lower Mainland. Particularly we have won many competitions and have performed at various diverse events such as the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics, Fusion Festival, and Canada Day.


Keeping our students happy and rooted to our culture is something we always strive to achieve. Presented by Sarabjit Cheema, Rangla Arts Academy is based in surrey, B.C and have competed in many competitions all over North America.
